General Description

An opportunity has arisen for an additional permanent full-time sales advisor to work in our family run soft furnishing showroom based in Coventry.

You will initiate sales conversations with our customers who will seek your experience to help to coordinate their room schemes from our extensive ranges of made to measure curtains, blinds, carpets and wallpapers. Whilst experience is preferred, your confident, enthusiastic presence will immediately become apparent as a key skill. You will be able to recognize when a customer is ready to place their order and be keen to sell them the products they are after.

You will be providing excellent customer service selling face-to-face in our showroom and at customer’s houses, alongside phone and email; a methodical work approach and friendly professional manner essential.

The Role

  • Offering professional advice to meet the needs of our customers
  • Advising products and coordinating room schemes in our showroom
  • Responding to customer queries via telephone & email
  • Communicating with our suppliers to resolve queries & issues
  • Maintaining good relations with customers and suppliers
  • After training, visiting customer houses using company vehicle to provide advice and a measuring service
  • Help organise displays, pricing and sampling

The skills (essential)

  • Strong, outgoing personality with a desire to interact with customers
  • Professional, clear and polite oral & written communication
  • Organisational skills to prioritise workflow depending on the daily circumstances
  • Thrive on learning and have a proactive attitude towards work
  • Put the customer at the centre of the job and always provide excellent customer service
  • Demonstrate high literacy & numeracy skills throughout
  • General computer skills
  • Full UK driving license

The ideal candidate will (preferable)

  • Have 2+ years proven previous retail sales or customer service experience
  • Have a keen interest in home and interior design
  • Have an understanding of metric and imperial measurements
  • Seek to improve the customer service provided by offering new ideas to the team
